"Sicilian Pig" is essentially an indigenous species of Sicily island.
In the period when productivity is at the highest priority, white pigs were brought from mainland Italy to Sicily island which caused near extinction state in 10 years ago.
Rare half-wild Sicilian Pigs’ value were reassessed and “Nebrodi black pork association” commenced protection and control.
Under the control and protection by the association, Suino Nero dei Nebrodi - "Sicilian Pig” is not cross-bred by other species and it maintains traditional wild and natural features . Sicilian Pork is an ancestor which has not been cross-bred and it brings powerful taste and flavor. "The Pork" taste will surly blow stereotypes.

Difference between typical pork and Sicilian Pork
"Sicilian Pig" was registered as species by EU in 2006. Not only its species, its breeding follows natural tradition.
Delivery of piglet is done in caves except mid-winter, after weaning piglet walk around in nature eating natural plants in grazing lands. Such Sicilian Pork has deep red meat and sweet fat which represent taste of original pork.
