Remove the swab from the packaging using the handle.

Gently open the folds of skin at the vaginal opening and insert the swab 3 to 5 cm (1 to 2 inches) into the vagina.

Move the swab in several full circles along the vaginal walls for 20 seconds. Ensure the sample is collected on all sides of the swab tip. Carefully remove swab from the vagina.

Immediately insert the swab into the bottom of the tube and snap the shaft off at the break point. The swab tip remains in the tube of liquid.
